Wal-Mart Price List

pricelist

I have started to compile a Wal-Mart price list. Of course this list will be undergoing constant revisements as new prices come in and coupons are found. My list will have Wal-Marts base price for the item, the lowest comp price for that item, the highest coupon i have found for that item and lastly the amount you should be saving in total on the item. My hopes is that it will help us identify good sales :) I am also thinking of trying to track base price, comp price and coupon values according to the month because i have heard sales and coupons change from season to season. That way i can identify what months are best to stock up on which items.
Wish me luck! This will be very time consuming, but hopefully a good resource!

(Sneak Peek)

What do you think? I would love any advise on this since this is my first time making a price list. Should i change anything or add anything? Thanks :)

How to Freeze Milk

When you find milk on sale - or even better, on managers special - buy more than you need to freeze for a later time.
Milk is an essential item in our home, and at $3 a gallon I definitely stock up on it when it gets marked down to $1.99/gallon.
Here are some tips for you to use when freezing milk.

Instructions

  1. If both the gallon and half gallons are on sale for the same price buy the half gallons. These freeze faster, fit better in the freezer and defrost quicker.
  2. Open each of the jugs and empty out a little more than an inch from the top to account for it expanding when frozen. On full gallons I empty 1 cup and put it in a half gallon milk container i have saved for that purpose.
  3. To defrost the milk you can either place it on the counter for a couple of hours, put it in a sink full of cold water or put it in the fridge to defrost.
  4. When the milk is defrosted you will need to shake it thoroughly before using.
  5. You will want to use the milk within a few days of defrosting it.
Tips & Info
  • The milk can remain frozen for a few months.
  • Milk will turn yellow when frozen but don't worry when it thaws it will go back to being white.
  • It takes about a day to a day and a half to thaw a full gallon.
  • I suggest marking the date you pulled out the milk to thaw on the container because you have about 7 days until that milk will most likely go bad.
  • You can repackage the milk and freeze it in smaller quantities.
