First of all usually i have no problem ad matching at our local El Dorado Walmart. This last shopping spree was very interesting though. The cashier was having some issues with her register so she called over a CSM. When the CSM heard i was ad matching she told the cashier that the new rule is that the CSM's have to stand and watch the check out process if ad matches are involved.
- I am questioning this statement because another CSM was standing right there and said she had never heard such a thing.... so one of them is right and one of them is wrong.
- I told her that i made sure all the ad's i was ad matching from where all with in the 50 mile radius and that a CSM had told me that was the limit. The CSM said she had never heard such a thing and that all she had hear was stores in Wichita. A manager was called and gave the ok for them to ad match the ad's i had this time. But the CSM said she was going to try to find more information out for next time. I asked her to please find out because if something has changed i would like to know.
Walmart's ad matching policy says:
- We will match any local competitor's advertised price
If Homeland is considered a local competitor at 35.9 miles away (and is really in Haysville Ks) then Apple Market in Rose Hill which is 28.9 miles away should also be considered local. Also G&W in Eureka at 32 miles away should also be considered local. They can not limit it to one city or pick and choose stores. Policy states 'any local competitor's ad'.
I personally am going to print out the distances to the stores, so if i have this issue again i can show them and defend my ad's.
